Under normal conditions, refineries and petrochemical processes generate waste streams of flammable gas. In the past these were burned off in flare systems. Today, however, more and more operators realize that flaring is a huge waste of energy as well as a source of air pollution. Instead they are compressing their waste gases and burning them in fired heaters. Fuel bill goes down and the air stays cleaner. Tsurumi liquid compressors have proved themselves to be particularly suitable for handing refinery off-gases, thanks to their safe isothermal compression around 25 degree to 55 degree, avoiding gas polymerism inside of the compressor in high temperature.
