Tsurumi vacuum system is designed to keep the condenser in required vacuum:
Hogging: Before starting up the turbine, making the pressure of condenser from atmosphere to around 20KpaA. In this stage, vacuum pump is operating in lower vacuum, the capacity is higher, so the required vacuum can be gotten in short time.
Maintaining: Evaluating the leakage air from the condenser, keeping the back pressure of condenser in design point. In this period, vacuum pump is operating in higher vacuum, Tsurumi vacuum pump is designed in two stages, so the achieved vacuum is higher than the single stage vacuum pump.
